 | Bates, Wells & Braithwaite is one of Suffolk’s longest established firms of Solicitors and is amongst the largest firms in East Anglia.
It is an amalgamation of three practices, the first of which was formed in the early 1800’s, and the second in 1885 by Thomas Bates to advise local business and the farming community, and it expanded to meet the growing involvement of the law in people’s every day lives.
In 1958 the firm opened an office in Ipswich to advise the membership of one of the largest Unions in Britain, mainly in industrial matters, and this led to the establishment of an industrial injuries specialist team.
In 1970 BWB opened a London Office specifically to advise financial institutions with whom the firm was already connected and local and national Charities.
In 1991 the practice of Dale Parkinson & McNeill was incorporated with BWB.
It has clients in accountancy, farming, shipping, agriculture, medicine, local government, retailing manufacturing, public relations, theatre, charity, trade unions, estate agency, finance, sport and leisure.
