 | We are proud to be part of the communities we serve and see our local knowledge as a valuable asset in tailoring to the need of the local people. Within the firm our partners and staff are involved in many local activities including the governing body of a local school, trustees of local charities and corporate members at a local Further Education College where we recently sponsored an Art Exhibition. We are delighted to support and offer prizes for local schools, colleges and businesses where appropriate.
We have been established since 1928 and, while we believe strongly in the traditional values of our past, we are also aware of the changing expectations and demands of the future. As an expanding firm, we are committed to developing our legal expertise and services to ensure that they remain relevant and proactive.
The firm takes its name from the two original principals, Philip Thornley Bowcock and Howard Pursaill. Philip Bowcock set up a solicitors practice at 54 St Edward Street in the 1920s. Howard Pursaill joined him in partnership in the 1930s. Philip Bowcock served in the RAF during the war and Howard Pursaill ran the firm in his absence.
Bowcocks enjoys a remarkable record of loyalty amongst its staff. Although some have spent time with other firms and broadened their experience, most of our current fee earners have remained with, or returned to, the firm. |
