David is managing partner of Herbert Smith. In this role he chairs the firm's Executive Committee, concentrating on implementation of Herbert Smith's strategy.
Prior to becoming managing partner in April 2008 he held a number of senior management positions, including his role as head of Herbert Smith's Asia operations (1997-2001) and more recently head of the firm's Financial Institutions Group.
David joined Herbert Smith in 1981 and became a partner in 1989. Before he went to Hong Kong David advised on a series of major privatisations in the UK, including those in the electricity and coal sectors.
He recently advised the UK Government on the restructuring of British Nuclear Fuels plc and the establishing of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority. |
