 | Gibson & Co was founded in the 1720s and there has been a member of the Gibson family practicing law in the firm in the Tyne valley continuously since that date. The ninth generation of the family to practice are brothers, Tony and Derwent Gibson. Tony is the Senior Partner of the firm and head of the Newcastle office. Derwent is head of the Hexham office. The tenth generation, Toby Gibson, joined the Newcastle office as a partner in 2003.
The firm has always set high standards for itself and has attained Lexcel, the Law Society's practice management quality mark.
