 | The firm takes its name from John Nightingale, who formed his own practice in Manchester in 1939. By the time of his retirement from the partnership in 1980, he had seen the practice grow to its present multi-partner status. In 1982, John Nightingale's long career in the law was rewarded when he had the honour of being appointed to the office of High Sheriff of Greater Manchester.
The firm has, over the years, acquired and amalgamated with several other Manchester practices and can trace its roots back into the 19th century.
The law is continually evolving and becoming more complex so that there are now few facets of business and personal life that it does not touch.
Today, Nightingales comprises the partners supported by assistant solicitors and legal executives. Although modern practice demands a considerable degree of individual specialisation, the firm endeavour to maintain sufficient flexibiliity to enable a combination of skills and experience to be brought to bear should any particular matter require this. |
