Pearson Maddin arrived on the legal scene in 1995 as a result of the merger of Pearson's (New Malden) and C A Maddin (Surbiton). John Pearson started Pearson's in 1963, three years after qualifying. John was an entrepreneurial businessman and built the practice around the local and business community of New Malden, South-London and Kingston. The firm of C A Maddin was started by Charles Albert Maddin in 1928 and had served the people of Surbiton for many years.

Pearson Maddin has moved away from Legal Aid and publicly funded work to concentrate on expanding the business for Private and Business clients. They are moving towards a corporate style business structure and have embraced the opportunity of utilising the most modern techniques to provide the highest quality service to the clients. They are advancing the use of IT and digital systems to communicate internally and with their clients.
