Accident Insurers unacceptable practice
Wednesday 17th December 2008

Chris Tagg, senior APIL Litigator and Head of personal injury at Bobbetts Mackan calls for regulation of insurers to prevent them contacting the victims of accidents directly.

“It is entirely unacceptable for people who have been injured to be tracked down and pressurised by the insurance company representing those who injured them” he said.

The Financial Services Authority is reported to be taking a keen interest in the practice of insurers offering upfront cash and dealing directly with victims of accidents. It is designed to avoid injured people seeking their own independent advice.

Remember that if you have been injured in an accident that was not your fault, compensation from the Defendant is a right and not a privilege.

It is essential to have independent advice from a lawyer working for you and not for the insurance company who will ultimately have to pay out.

If you have been a victim of this cold calling, Chris invites you to call him for advice on 0117 3119215 or email ctagg@bobbetts.com
