Over the last 6 months, The BBC have been an ever present part of the working day at Amelans Solicitors.
Focussing both on the day to day working of the practice and on real life cases, the BBC have produced a 5 part observational documentary that will provide an insight into the workings of this high profile law firm, the characters within it and some of the cases the firm deals with.
Partner Andrew Twambley says, "We agreed to the series as we wished to dispel much of the myth and bad press about personal injury. The daily papers have recently had a field day fuelling the myth of the compensation culture. It's about time someone stood up for personal injury practitioners and show what really happens."
The BBC had been researching this idea for some time and were searching for a firm who were proud of their profession, but were prepared to put their heads (and more) over the parapet. They wanted a team of lawyers who had been involved in groundbreaking cases and who are prepared to tell it like it is. Amelans were the obvious choice!
When asked how he felt before he saw the final product, Partner Martin Cockx said, " I was a little nervous. They had about 270 hours of film, which needed to be edited into five half hours of entertaining television. To say that I was apprehensive, was an understatement, but now I have seen all fives episodes, I am relaxed and happy with the content. There is nothing in there I wouldn't want my mother to see !"
The series No Win No Fee commences on Wednesday 4 May on BBC2 at 7.00 pm
