Associates appointed to aid law firm’s continued growth
Thursday 21st June 2007

Leading South Wales law firm Harding Evans has promoted three solicitors to the role of associate as it continues to implement its wide-ranging growth plans.

The three are family law specialist Jayne Fletcher, 51, dispute resolution and commercial litigation solicitor, Jonathan Hill, 34, and property lawyer Wyn Williams, 28.

Jayne, who obtained her professional qualification from Guildford College of Law has been practicing for over 25 years and has specific expertise in the financial aspects of divorce and access rights for parents. She is a member of the Advanced Family Law Panel.

Jonathan, a former mechanical engineer in the steel industry who switched to the legal profession seven years ago, has become a respected dispute resolution specialist. In 2006 he successfully represented a national transport company in a landmark court case involving vehicle accident and breakdown recovery costs, which it is estimated will save UK insurance companies many millions of pounds each year.

First language Welsh speaker Wyn, who hails from Aberaeron in West Wales specialises in residential property transactions. He graduated from the University of Glamorgan and joined Harding Evans in 2003 from a Cardiff law firm.

Ken Thomas, Partner and Board Member of Harding Evans explained that the creation of three new associates was part of the strategic development of the firm, which is now the eighth largest in Wales.

“These three accomplished lawyers have vital skills and experience in key areas of the law and their promotion is designed to expand the contribution they bring to the business and to aid our growth,” he added.

Harding Evans, which was established in 1871, has a total staff of over 120, including 11 partners and over 50 fee-earners.

The firm is currently pursuing a strategy to double in size over the next five years to meet the growing demands from businesses and private clients in the Newport area and across South East Wales.
