Leading law firm Brabners Chaffe Street has won industry recognition for its services to football at a major North West awards ceremony.
The firm beat off competition from fellow nominees Deloitte and Forbes to win the professional services category in the North West Football Awards in Manchester on Monday (17 November).
Brabners Chaffe Street advises more than half of the Premier League clubs – including six of the North West’s seven – plus dozens of Football League clubs, players and agents as well as governing bodies.
Its expertise includes constitutional and regulatory issues, disciplinary and dispute resolution, managerial appointments, brand exploitation and player transfers; the team advised on more than 30 player transfers during the last transfer window.
Edward Canty, partner at Brabners Chaffe Street, said: “We are delighted to have won this award and it is a fantastic endorsement of the quality of our specialist team of sports lawyers, which is recognised as a market leader regionally, nationally and internationally in an increasingly regulated sector.
“We’ve worked hard to build long-established partnerships with our clients, providing a full range of legal services. That focus and commitment continues to pay dividends.”
Brabners Chaffe Street received the award from BBC North West Tonight’s Gordon Burns, who complimented the firm for its regional and national growth.
