Leading law firm, Cobbetts, has attracted two high profile partners from Bevan Brittan and Eversheds to its commercial property team.
Amanda Hanmore, who previously led the property team at Bevan Brittan in Birmingham, brings over 20 years’ experience in advising on both public and private sector development as well as landlord and tenant matters and secured lending.
Amanda’s appointment follows the arrival of Helen Lindley, who has joined following several years at Nabarro Nathanson, and legal executive Alistair Bissett to the team. They will also soon be joined by Marian Griffiths, who is moving from Eversheds to join the planning team at Cobbetts.
Eleanor Deady, head of the commercial property team in Birmingham, added: “Amanda is extremely well known for her capabilities and expertise within the region’s property sector. Her appointment is a high profile coup for the firm and we are confident that she will play a key role in developing the practice area further.”
Recent regional and high profile deals in which the growing team has been involved include advising Barberry Developments on the £25m b1 development, one of the largest office deals recently completed in Birmingham; advising Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council in a major town centre regeneration project, bringing £100M of inward investment to the area, and involving the provision of a new Tesco superstore and a new college of art and technology for Walsall College.
The team also advised Opus Land on its £23m acquisition of the Littlewoods distribution outlet in Burton on Trent.
