Midlands dairy wholesalers J.N. Dairies (our client) , has won its battle against local competitor Johal Dairies and illegal immigrant Gurbir Singh. In an extraordinary High Court trial, lasting eight days, Johal Dairies was found to have acted unlawfully by paying Mr Gurbir Singh £40,000 to steal invoicing information from rival supplier J.N. Dairies.

Johal Dairies used the stolen information, which included details of milk volumes, addresses and prices paid by J.N. Dairies customers, to undercut and unlawfully win J.N. Dairies' business.

J.N. Dairies customers testified that they had been offered cheap milk by Johal Dairies. Customers said that they were offered from four weeks to three months’ milk supply free of charge. Such practice is strongly condemned by the National Farmers Union as well as Farmers For Action.

Passing judgement, Judge David Cook rejected Johal Dairies' evidence, declaring it "highly unconvincing" and "implausible".

“My clients are extremely pleased with this important victory. They welcome fair competition but this was unacceptable. J.N. Dairies had no alternative but to go to Court since Johal Dairies claimed complete innocence".

This comes hot on the heels of another high-profile win for William Neville, where he successfully defended two farming clients against claims made in court by one of the UK's leading dairy companies, one blogger analysing the cases described William as a "Rottweiler".
