High-profile Eversheds corporate partner Guy Green is to leave the national giant's London team to re-join the Black Country corporate law practice George Green LLP, a firm founded by his grandfather.
Green, who will be based in the Cradley Heath office, was the former head of Eversheds’ private equity practice in Birmingham before joining the Icelandic financial institution Exista as Global Head of Legal. He returned to Eversheds' London office last year.
Green took a lead role on Exista’s €1.9bn (£1.3bn) share acquisition of 15.6% of the shares of Finnish insurance and financial services group Sampo Ojy, Bakkavor's £600m bid for Geest Foods PLC and Kaupthing Capital Partners’ £70m acquisition of 22% of Bookers PLC. He also played a key role expanding Eversheds' strong Scandinavian practice.
Commenting on his move, Green said: "Whilst I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Eversheds, my heart and my family have always been in the Midlands and the opportunity to return to a firm with which I have such strong links was too good to turn down. I am greatly looking forward to working with what is widely recognised as the leading corporate legal team in the Midlands outside Birmingham."
George Green's head of Corporate, Paul Bennett said: "We are delighted to welcome Guy back to the firm. Guy is widely recognised as an exceptional corporate lawyer and with his experience and connections Guy will add a further dimension to our corporate work."
