Herbert Smith has been appointed to Southbank Centre Limited's new framework panel for property and planning legal services.
Southbank Centre is the largest single-run arts centre in the world and is home to iconic venues including the Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Purcell Room and the Hayward Gallery.
The site is visited by 22 million people every year and includes several internationally important heritage assets.
Southbank Centre is implementing a comprehensive masterplan for the whole estate, which has already seen the refurbishment of the Grade I listed Royal Festival Hall.
The Herbert Smith team is led by client relationship partner Matthew White, together with partners Patrick Robinson, Richard Forsdyke and Matthew Bonye, and of counsel Molly Smith.
Matthew White commented:
"We have been working closely with Southbank Centre for more than 18 years and we are delighted to be selected as one of their preferred legal advisers for property and planning.
"We are looking forward to strengthening our relationship with Southbank Centre by advising on some exciting projects for the 2012 Cultural Olympiad, including the opening of the new Jubilee Gardens and the Festival of the World this summer."
