Thomas Eggar announces its change to LLP status and the internal promotion of ten of its lawyers.
Law firm Thomas Eggar announces that, as of today, the Partnership of Thomas Eggar has converted into a limited liability partnership and will now be known as Thomas Eggar LLP. A number of law firms have already converted into limited liability partnerships since the legislation was introduced. We feel that the time is now right for Thomas Eggar.
The firm has also promoted a number of lawyers across the firm's specialist teams. Angela Foster, Paul Gaff and Nicola Plant have become salaried partners. Nitzan Cohen, Helen Harvie, Jennie Kreser, Nicola Laing, Cathryn Pernstich, Juliet Pickworth and Frances Strickley have all been promoted to associate level.
Partners
Based in the firm's Gatwick office in the Corporate Finance team, Angela Foster joined the firm in June 2005 after spending two years at Dresdner Kleinwort and almost three years at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. Angela advises on a wide range of corporate transactions, but has a particular specialism in public markets work especially involving the AIM market. She recently led the Thomas Eggar team that advised on the recommended takeover of Leicester City Football Club plc.
Paul Gaff is also based in Gatwick and joined the firm in 2002. As an employment law specialist, he advises on all types of contentious and non-contentious employment issues including Tribunal cases, senior executive contracts, boardroom disputes, transactional support and TUPE issues.
Nicola Plant joined the firm in 2005 and works from the Worthing and London offices. She is a private client lawyer specialising in wills, trusts, tax and estate planning for high net worth individuals and their families.
Associates
Nitzan Cohen is a tax specialist working in the firm's Chichester and Gatwick offices. His specific experience includes dealing with high value corporate tax restructuring, various corporate transactions, property taxes and share schemes.
Helen Harvie has been with the firm for over six years and is based in the Chichester office. Helen is a specialist in charity law and a senior trust adviser, as well as advising clients on tax and estate planning.
Jennie Kreser is based in the Gatwick office. Formerly the Legal Director for OPRA (the former pension regulatory body), Jennie advises on all aspects of pensions law, including transaction support, and counts among her clients a number of company trustees as well as corporates.
Nicola Laing is a property lawyer based in Gatwick. Nicola advises a range of clients on matters including commercial property acquisitions and disposals, investment portfolios and commercial landlord and tenant work. She also advises on the property aspects of corporate transactions.
Cathryn Pernstich is also a Gatwick based member of the commercial property team. Cathryn's experience includes advising on commercial acquisitions and disposals with an emphasis on all aspects of development work, as well as dealings in commercial landlord and tenant issues.
Juliet Pickworth is based in our London office. Her experience spans the corporate spectrum, but her recent work has focused particularly on corporate issues with respect to property investment acquisitions and disposals and corporate restructuring including the use of offshore vehicles.
Frances Strickley is an employment lawyer working in our Gatwick office. She joined the firm in 2004 and advises clients on the full gambit of contentious and non-contentious matters including day to day advice to businesses.
