New appointments

steeles are delighted to announce the further expansion of their commercial dispute resolution practice with appointment of solicitor Nick Porter.

Nick has a wide and varied range of litigation experience with a particular interest in insolvency related matters.



Other areas of Nick's expertise include professional negligence, landlord and tenant litigation as well as prosecutions and possession cases. Nick also has experience in dealing with high profile disputes that capture widespread media attention. Recently Nick was involved in advising members of a national lottery syndicate on a dispute involving a considerable sum of winnings.



Peter Hastings, head of steeles Commercial Dispute Resolution Team is delighted with the appointment. "It is a real pleasure to welcome Nick to the team. His skills together with the experience he brings will help us further develop our business and expand the number of services we can offer our clients."



Recently the team has worked on a number of interesting an complex cases including; acting for a shareholder in a multi-million pound shareholders dispute, successfully obtaining an injunction to prevent the misuse of confidential information, representing the UK subsidiary of an international American group of companies with a turnover of ?6m, defending a "cartel" and "anti-competitive" case for multi million pound organisation, conducting international Arbitrations as well as advising a Local Authority on a construction dispute worth in excess of ?1m.
