National law firm D&W has announced the appointment of Martin Thomas as a partner in
its Litigation practice. Thomas joins D&W's London office in April 2007 from Herbert Smith
where he is currently head of Property Litigation. His appointment takes the number of
D&W fee earners in London to over 90.
Thomas will play a leading role in further developing D&W’s litigation team in London. In
addition to helping to further grow that practice, the team also has a significant role in
working with D&W’s corporate, projects, construction and corporate recovery teams, both
in servicing existing clients of the practice and developing new business in these areas.
This appointment further reflects D&W's commitment to continuing to grow its practice in
London in its key areas.
D&W managing partner Donald Shaw said: “Martin’s expertise as a property litigator is
widely recognised in the market and his aspirations fit perfectly with those of our practice.
We are delighted to once again attract someone of such high calibre and are confident that
Martin will contribute strongly to the achievement of our UK strategy.”
Thomas added: "I've greatly valued the past 20 years at Herbert Smith but believe now is a
time for new challenges, which I’m greatly looking forward to. This is a fantastic
opportunity for me to have a very significant role in helping D&W deliver its strategy in
London.”
