New Solicitors for Greenwoods' Commercial Property Department
Tuesday 15th May 2007

Greenwoods highly regarded Commercial Property Department has two new solicitors, Cheryl McCready and Carole Wrench.

Cheryl joins Greenwoods from a Commercial Law practice in Manchester where she trained and worked for one year post qualification. She has spent most of her career in the field of Property, both working as part of a team on large projects, to more personal, one to one contact with clients on smaller transactions. Cheryl has amassed a good breadth of experience since starting legal practice. She has acted for clients ranging from commercial businesses to charities and private individuals, advising on matters as diverse as adverse possession claims, leases in connection with offices, shops, a golf course and a riding stable, to residential and commercial developments.

Carole trained at Kester Cunningham John's Cambridge office and worked for one year as an Assistant Solicitor. Carole has been involved in a wide range of residential property transactions, such as buying and selling freehold and leasehold property, as well as acting on behalf of major lenders in remortgaging work. Carole has also gained experience in working with property developers on site acquisitions leading, ultimately, to sales of individual plots. Her Commercial exposure has involved acting on behalf of a Local Authority in relation to sale of sites, the consideration for which allowed the Local Authority to be granted Nomination Rights in respect of initial rents and relets, as well as drafting a Nomination Agreement in relation to the transaction. Carole has also acted on behalf of various housing associations in the acquisition and disposal of properties.

Stephen Illingworth, Chairman of Greenwoods Solicitors LLP and head of the Property Department commented:

'I am delighted to announce the appointment of Carol and Cheryl. Greenwoods now has eight lawyers and a consultant working exclusively in the field of commercial property law. Their skills and experience will ensure that we continue to deliver an excellent service to our growing client base.

Cheryl and Carole will be great assets to the team. Their skills and enthusiasm will undoubtedly be of great benefit to our clients.
