Olswang's international Real Estate team welcomes new partner Graham Lloyd-Brunt
Friday 6th January 2012

Olswang is delighted to announce that Graham Lloyd-Brunt is joining its Real Estate (RE) team from BLP, where he has been a partner for 7 years. Olswang's international RE team comprises 17 partners and 35 other lawyers in the UK and Germany, but in total more than 100 of its lawyers focus on the real estate sector.

With a client base that spans institutional clients such as Legal & General, F&C REIT, UBS Global Asset Management and Dundee Realty, through to entrepreneurial clients like Delancey and Heron. Olswang's team is ranked as one of Europe's foremost RE practices and recently won the JUVE Real Estate Firm of the Year 2011 award.

In the last 12 months the team has closed more than £2bn of RE deals, including acting on Delancey's joint venture with Qatar Diar to buy the Olympic Village in London, Canadian investor Dundee's International REIT's purchase of a €700m portfolio of German properties from Lone Star and the sale of St Katharine's Dock for clients of F&C REIT as well as several shopping centre acquisitions for various of its clients. The team is also involved in the leasing of some of London's iconic new buildings including The Heron Tower and what is soon to be the UK's tallest building, The Shard.

Graham's experience with international clients and his reputation and skills will complement the Olswang team's dynamic approach and commercial style.

Graham Lloyd-Brunt said: "I'm very pleased to be joining Olswang at such a critical moment for the Real Estate market. The Olswang RE team is known for delivering extraordinary levels of client service and value for money, which has given them real depth and breadth in the UK and Germany. I am very much looking forward to working with Gary Watson and the team and using Olswang's developing international platform to grow the business further."

David Stewart, Olswang's CEO, said: "The Real Estate team at Olswang has reacted to the market conditions of the last three years exceptionally well. We have developed our business at the more complex institutional end of the market and the addition of our fantastic German team has established a significant European brand to add to our UK reputation. Graham's experience and ambition will help us take the practice to the next level as we continue to focus on complex high value work and expand our international offering."

Gary Watson, Olswang's Head of Real Estate, said: "I joined Olswang in 2010 to help lead the team and develop a strategy for the future. Graham is an essential part of the succession planning I was tasked to put in place. His knowledge of the market and his international experience were critical factors in our decision and we very much look forward to him joining us."
