Osborne Clarke has advised Investec Investment Banking in its capacity as sponsor and underwriter on the £100m flotation of property services group, Styles & Wood. The company makes its debut on the Official List on 7 November with a £70m placing of existing and new shares.
The Osborne Clarke team was led by corporate partner Jonathan King assisted by associate Chris Worrell. Halliwells (led by corporate partner Charles Glaskie) advised Styles & Wood.
Commenting on the transaction, Jonathan King said:
"We were delighted to act for Investec on what is one of the relatively few main market IPO's this year, particularly for a mid cap company. The decision to list on the main market, as opposed to AIM, was taken at an early stage with a view to accessing a greater pool of institutional money - a decision which was borne out by the size of the fundraising achieved.
"We are already seeing other clients taking similar decisions in the light of current market volatility on AIM."
