Leading Gloucester law firm poised for new era of growth.
One of Gloucestershire's leading law firms has converted to LLP (Limited Liability Partnership) status in the year it marks its 150th anniversary.
Tayntons Solicitors, which has 97 employees spread over two sites in central Gloucester, is following a route favoured by many of the country's top law practices.
Tayntons' switch from the traditional model of a law firm partnership to a LLP is considered the right corporate identity for the 21st century, and will enhance its ability to recruit the best legal talent around.
Martin Edden, LLP Partner at Tayntons, said: "Tayntons has opted to convert to LLP status because it is the right business model for professional practices in the 21st century".
"The LLP structure will enable us to attract new legal talent to our teams, and provide a supportive and secure base from which to develop the practice for the many challenges ahead."
Mr Edden added: "The impending conversion to LLP is just the latest stage of our journey to bring the practice into our target position among the county's top five law firms. It's part of the process."
"One of the main advantages following conversion to LLP is the flexibility it offers as far as inward investment is concerned, particularly following partial deregulation of the legal services market which is expected soon."
Tayntons, which will mark its 150-year milestone with a fun day extravaganza in June, has also announced that Gareth Coomber is joining the firm's insurance department as an Associate Solicitor from London law firm Greenwoods.
Tayntons officially becomes Tayntons LLP Solicitors with effect from 1 January 2007. The firm has also maintained its Investors In People and Lexcel (The Law Society's Quality Mark) accreditations.
With offices in Clarence Street, and St Michael's Square, Tayntons numbers around 8,000 clients. It offers a range of services including personal injury, litigation, employment, residential property and conveyancing, re-mortgages, commercial property, divorce and family law, wills, probate and care of the elderly, insurance litigation, business and company law.
